Nude Art

Put on trial the artists' models who posed nude for art schools until the early 70s, hide the art books and destroy the nude statues of antiquity, then undress and stand before a mirror and burn your bodies that you despise to forever rid yourselves of your sexual hangups before you direct your humiliation and chauvinism and dare
to try to deny me my freedom of expression

  2. Nude art? Is it porn or beauty? Some consider it a work of beauty, others might be offended. Some women claim a right to their bodies and sexuality. You have a strong heart to stand up to extremists.I don't see anything wrong with it but what good will it do the world if women in the Middle East take their clothes off?

  3. @Anonymous-2
Why did you comment only about women? I posted a nude photo of a man too.

It will do good if Middle Eastern women were free to do what they want with their bodies, and were not considered sex objects and commodities of their family men.

  4. With all respect to you - what good will it do the world if men and women in the Middle East take their clothes off?
It would be more accurate to say that it is a freedom, and we should be willing to fight to keep. Personal freedom? what this concept means in Egyptian society?
Personal freedom had limits and this kind of personal freedom - nude male and female art - is unknown in our society. You misunderstand the concept!
I have no problem with nudity. If you wish for people to be more understanding about nude photography you need to understand and deal with negative comments.
Yes,Nude does NOT equal sexual and nudity is artistic expression, but that doesn't mean that it is acceptable in the society where we live in. As much as I want to believe being open minded about nudity,It would be great if we could get to a place where nudity was just a person with no clothes on. I think that will take a very long time though!
I hope this clears things up for you.

Freedom and limits cannot be put in one sentence. Individual freedoms should not be restricted by social norms ... Humans are humans anywhere in the world and have the same rights.

  7. Hey Aliaa, this is Mira fixOlogy. i quit FB for the time being, so apologies for not commenting on ur tags.

just wanted to tell you that im so happy for this major action you took, n i salute you for it.

you know that i support nudity, and for me nudity is the most divine form of Art that exists. we should be proud of the beauty of our bodies.
just want to say something for those who oppose this idea; personal freedom is not ur society's business, if ur religion tell you it haram then why ur god created Adam n Eve naked?? if he has a problem with it then he should've put clothes on their bodies.

n i always say, we need a sexual revolution that is the first step to liberating women from the rotten mold they were put in.

    kisses

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Anonymous-3

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Anonymous-3

  17. Men, many or most, seem to have trouble controlling their "instincts" and over time and in most societies, have instituted the oppression of women as the way to deal with their own inabilities.
Thank you for reminding me.Men have so much to un-learn.
We are a violent ,extremely emotional, high-risk taking, often unstable, bunch.
Forgive us and continue your beautiful contribution so we may learn faster and do what it is that men MUST do and change in themselves

I bow my head in respect for your derive and courage. There is a little to no point in you arguing with fellow Egyptians, brainwashed since birth by a vile religion and a deep rooted hypocrisy is engrained in them. Just please be extra cautious both you and your bf because we don't want to see you stabbed by a pathetic "jihadi" or hear that you had to flee Egypt to asylum. Best of luck.

Keep your head up knowing that others already paved the way, you're just making sure it follows ;)

I can't help but support your postion in satnding for your freedom and the freedom of every human (man&woman). I believe that God created man and woman in his own image which is beautiful. God admired and delighted in his own creation. unfortunately our culture and the misinterpretation of diffrent religions distorted this beautiful image and made of our bodies objects of sex and shame. Although your approach is very shocking to our conservative society but I think that extreme liberty and freedom is the the way to defeat this trend of extremism and oppression that we're facing!!

I am also very surprised by the comments! i am from morocco and the situation is not that much different from egypt. But still i am impressed by the many positive comments and less negative ones. Some light is rising out of darkness.
Maybe we are not that far from a whole lightned picture! singin another "tala3a albadrou 3alayna"! a modern "badr" this time, with a liberty light and universal rights (oh great that rimes ^^)

I believe also in a very simple rule : do not do onto others what you do not want done to you and my freedoms ends where my friend's starts...I respect all religions and all religions should respect each other. There is only one God and many forms of adoring him/her. We are all the same no difference in color, race or religion : the soul is colorless and invisible and the blood is red for everybody. Love and respect is stronger than hatred and destruction and control from one person over another. We are all FREE...be careful out there.

  139. This is truly incredible! I have always believed that nude art, if done tastefully, is true beauty. Our bodies are amazing vessels that carry life; societies around the world have made it taboo to show ourselves in our natural beauty. Being naked is not simply about sex. Negative images and unrealistic expectations have made women AND men embarrassed to be nude.
