أنا من حيث المبدأ ضد سجن سما المصري أو أي ست بترقص أو تتصور، أو تقدم محتوي كوميدي أو فني أو سياسي، تافه أو هادف، بس فاكرين لما هي طلعت عملت دور النفاق اللي عملوه معظم المشاهير و قالت إنها ضد تصرفي بشكل منافي ل"عاداتنا و تقاليدنا"؟ أهي عاداتكم و تقاليدكم طالتك.

في 2011/2012، أهلي استشاروا محامي في القضية اللي كانت مرفوعة ضدي، و حاولوا يضغطوا عليا أعمل زي ما المحامي قال لهم و أقول إن كريم عامر اللي "خلاني" أنشر الصورة، مش أنا اللي نشرتها، و أخرس بعد كده.
Menna Abdelaziz's imprisonment in a women's shelter as a punishment for creating content on TikTok and having mixed gender relationships with people who abused her because of the "Egyptian family values" they hold begs the question about the real function of women's shelters in Egypt (and other countries) with all their arbitrary rules. Is their function to provide temporary housing and support for women or to break them to fit into gender roles and social norms?!

Reminder that these women are imprisoned for existing in female bodies and expressing themselves, while local activists, local and international media are inquiring whether it's a political/feminist cause worthy of attention or they are "stupid whores".
10-12 years ago, I and my classmates got in trouble with our high school administration and families for posting these photos, which they thought marriageable girls shouldn't post on social media. As a natural development, women get in trouble with the law for expressing themselves on internet in Egypt 2020.
Creative, lively, sexy, queer, they violate the first commandment of femininity: passivity. Didn't you know girls should shut up, sit down and eat a sock? * Sarcasm *
If these girls were Egyptian, they would've gotten imprisoned and made to suffer for violating family values, and male political analysts would've insulted them with the assumption they were too dumb to have political opinions.
P.S. Women's ability to live their effing lives is a serious and political (feminist) issue.

This is the development we got after the liberals and the left ما عملوا مناقصة علي ال women's/human rights and secularism and considered those who tried to seize the political moment to work long term for system change (dictatorship and patriarchy) as threats to their power. Why are they criticizing the state/military council for doing the same? Creative young women who wear theater makeup pay the price, not politicians who change their skins.
